The Government has recently announced that children will be tested on their times tables from September 2016. We teach the children their times tables in a specific order; 2, 5 and 10, then 3 and 6, then 4 and 8, then 7 and 9, finally 11 and 12. They are taught in these groups so that as they approach the 'trickier' times tables, they are already familiar with several facts, meaning they have fewer new facts to learn. We find that 'little and often' is best with times tables to ensure children know these facts off by heart. The links below are some on-line games you may find useful to support your child.
