Using YouTube

Did you know that you need to be 13 years old to have a YouTube account?  YouTube is not accessible in school, so when children get home parents need to monitor what their children are doing on computers and tablets.  People must give their permission before videos or pictures of them can up uploaded to YouTube.

In order to upload videos to YouTube an account must be set up, which cannot be done by children under 13 years old, therefore no primary aged children should have their own account.  If children are using parent's accounts to upload videos, parents should check carefully what their children are viewing and uploading.  There is a child-friendly version of YouTube is available at https://kids.youtube.com/.  For further information, see the Parents' Guide below.
